Shure GLXD2/B87 Digital Wireless Handheld Microphone Transmitter with Beta 87A Capsule (2.4 GHz)
The Shure GLXD2/B87 is a digital wireless handheld microphone transmitter compatible with GLX-D Digital and GLX-D Advanced Digital Series receivers. It comes equipped with an integrated Beta 87A supercardioid condenser capsule designed to withstand extreme sound pressure levels, while still delivering a remarkably smooth frequency response for vocal performers and presenters. The capsule features a supercardioid polar pattern that offers excellent rejection of off-axis background noise, helping to reduce feedback.
GLX-D Digital systems operate anywhere in the world in the 2.4 GHz spectrum, well away from potential TV and radio interference. The transmitter’s RF output is fixed at 10mW and offers a maximum transmission range of 165′ outdoors and 200′ indoors. The gain is adjusted remotely from the receiver in 1 dB steps at a range from -18 to +42 dB.
Shure’s frequency management technology monitors interference and automatically switches to a clean channel if necessary, ensuring seamless, uninterrupted performances. The transmitter’s LED indicates the link status and warns you when the battery is getting low.
The GLXD2/B87 is housed in a lightweight plastic chassis and provides up to 16 hours of operation with the included SB902 rechargeable battery. The battery can be recharged inside the transmitter from the USB port, using the included USB charger cable or removed from the transmitter and recharged in the GLXD4 receiver’s charging bay. A 15-minute charge provides up to 1.5 hours of performance time.
